Abstract The Internet of Things (IoT) has fast become a reality - connecting People and Things to create a fully connected lifestyle. Going way beyond the original focus of Machine-to-Machine, the world is gearing up for the IoT which will use sensor and RFID technologies to connect objects that can sense and communicate to mobile devices and the cloud. These “things” of the real world shall seamlessly integrate into the virtual world, enabling anytime, anywhere connectivity. The IoT will create a huge impact in multiple sectors, such as Home Automation, Wearables, Energy, Healthcare, Transportation, Financial, and Government Sectors. This panel will discuss the potential of innovative applications for these sectors, the prospective challenges, and the unique opportunities.
